Perhaps the highlight of our trip was visiting Le Mont St. Michel. What a breathtaking sight! Le Mont St. Michel is an old abbey built on a small piece of land that becomes an island at high tide. It is said that it boasts the highest and fastest tide in the world. People have caught their death trying to escape the fast rising waters which roll in at the speed of a galloping horse. The only negative aspect to our time on this island was that it was unbelievably crowded. People come from all over the world to explore the tiny streets which wind themselves throughout the village. We happily took a much needed rest in this touristy town before heading on to Paris. I need not show you photos as I am certain you are familiar with all the beautiful experiences that wonderful city has to offer. |
