How to Create an Auto
Response for a FrontPage Form
Note: This can only be done if you have 1) a Plan
1 or above, and 2) access to your E-mail Web Interface.
An auto response to a FrontPage form is used
when you want the person who submits your form to receive an automatic reply
with a pre-fabricated message. To create an auto response for one of your
e-mail accounts:
- Create an Auto
Response E-mail Account.
- Create your FrontPage form.
- Within your form, create a one line text box
to collect the e-mail address of the person submitting the form. Name
this field email (or any other name you desire). To name the field,
right mouse click on the text box, select Form Field Properties from the
drop-down menu, then type the name in the Name box - click OK to close the
Form Field Properties window.
- Right mouse click on the form itself and
select Form Properties from the drop down menu.
- In the Where to Store Results section, type
the e-mail address you created the auto response for in the E-Mail Address
field. Do not click OK yet.
- Click on the Options button in the lower left
of the Form Properties box.
- Click the Email Results tab.
- At the bottom of the window, type the subject
line of your automated message in the Subject Line field.
- In the Reply-to line, type the name of the
e-mail field you created in your form (email, or whatever else you
named it).
- Click OK, then OK again to close the window.
- Save your file, and publish your web.
- Test.
