Hi there! I'm an American man married to a French woman. It is both our 2nd marriage. I was divorced and she was widowed. How much better it is the 2nd time for both of us! We have several French friends in our community and frequently host French people in our home. I find the French to be lovely and kind people. This is coming from a Georgia redneck who rides his motorcyle more often than he drives his truck! We have been married 4 years now, and Catherine is so elegant and refined, and truly loves me for who I am. She is attentive to my needs, and is always game for the things that I like to do: fishing, camping, motorcycles. On the other hand, I have learned to enjoy a fine French dinner with her and a bottle of wine. We brought children into our marriage. My 2 American boys (and boys they are!), and her 3 girls raised in France. What a contrast! Yes, there are problems on occasion. Sometimes I feel like I am mediating a Franco-American war in my house between the children, but Catherine and I are a united front, and so far we have been able to overcome some big obstacles to household peace. You have a nice website, and I'm glad to see discussion concerning other French-American couples.
