My husband of less than 2 months, Jerome, and I spent 18 months apart. We met while both working for the US subsidiary of his employer (French company). He left for France in May 2001. We then spent the next 18 months, calling every day (talk about phone bills), emails and a trip every 3-4 months (mostly on his part since the French have so much vacation). After much thought, he quit his job and came to the US as a student. We decided to get married (only legally) so that he could look for work. And even though the road was tough (I was in the middle of a divorce and I have 2 daughters), it was SOOOOOOO worth it. So even though it may seem tough now, keep at school. A year will be gone before you know it and the rewards at the end will make it all worthwhile. Bonne chance!
