Marlene  Elizabeth Pfohl, the fifth child of Bill and Betty Pfohl, was born in Syracuse in 1962.  She attended St. Ann's Elementary School and graduated from Westhill High School in 1980.  Following the lead of her older sisters Sue and Kristen, Marlene entered the banking business, first with the Merchants' Bank in 1980.  She's made a recent career change, though.  Today, Marlene is a school bus driver for the East Syracuse-Minoa school district.

Marlene met Eric Stephen Christensen in 1980, and they married in 1984.  Eric was a 1980 graduate of Fayetteville-Manlius High School; he works in the collections department for a private company in Minoa.  Marlene and Eric live today in Minoa, where they are raising their young son Kyle.
