In long, loving memory...

bullet

After a brief illness, EMO's daughter Mary O'Donnell Montague passed peacefully on 21 November 2007 with her loving children at her side.

bullet

Mary's spirit dwells within these pages, and her love shines brightly through for all the O'Donnells.

bullet

Remember Mary for her strength, her generosity and devotion to family, her compassion, understanding and very forgiving nature, and perhaps above all else, for her unquenchable Irish humor

.

Mary's family gathered together on the day of her funeral (11-25-2007)

A grand bunch, aren't they?

Wedding news

bulletEMO's great-grandson Tom Montague and Sarah Moss (both of Syracuse, NY) tied the knot on 21 June 2008.
bulletThe wedding ceremony took place in the home of one of Sarah's best friends located on 110 Juneway Drive, by shocking coincidence, the very same childhood home of Tom's dad, Edward Thomas Montague, Jr., eldest son of Mary Herself!
bulletNow, there's good Karma, no?

bulletIt so happens that Tom is not only an art teacher and IT guru mystic at Most Holy Rosary Elementary School in Syracuse, he's also quite the talented artist - check out his hand-painted wedding invitation on the left!
bulletTom and Sarah's haircuts depicted in this thoughtful caricature are slight exaggerations, but their smiles are totally for real.
bulletCongrats to Tom and Sarah - we look forward to a long life of collaborative innovations and artistic displays!

Graduation news:

bulletEMO's great grand-daughter Kristin Montague just graduated ("escaped", says Kristin) from Cooper City High School in South Florida.
bulletKristin graduated with honors, ranking 54th out of 551 seniors at CCHS after four years with the Marching Band (playing flute and mellophone) and the Symphonic Band (playing flute and oboe).
bulletShe'll begin at Syracuse University in August 2008, majoring in biology (like her mother and father before), but no thank you, she has no plans for joining the marching band!
bulletKristin's main squeeze, Josh Ehrlich (see Senior Prom pix on the left) visited with the CNY Montagues in July 2008.
bulletWhile in Syracuse, Josh took the opportunity to intern under Jim "J-Bone" Montague, apprenticing in the fine arts of coffee breaks, cross-word puzzles and hot-tubbing.
bulletJosh is from North Miami Beach, a graduate of William C. Krop High School, and will begin Culinary Arts in September 2008 at Johnson & Wales University in North Miami

Free baby sitting services available: "Free," that is, if there's Gannons Ice Cream in the deal!  EMO's great grand-daughter Kelly Montague (also from from Cooper City High School) was up in Syracuse for the month of July, and EMO's great grand-daughter Carrie Rewakowski put her right to work, horse-whipping Brendan, Noah & Mary-Kate nicely into shape - "Piece of cake," says Kelly.  "Right," says Mary Kate.  BTW, Carrie threw a blowout "Sweet-16" birthday party for Kelly on 30 July - check out Kelly below with her "Sweet-16" gift of string pearls set aside last year by Grandma Mary Herself!

Kelly & her Posse Happy Sweet 16!

Quigsy & the Bird news and updates: Our favorite Irish folk music divas lit up the stage once again in July at the Syracuse Summer Irish Festival at St. Pat's - as you can see in Carrie Rewakowski's great photo below, the crowd was outta control!  On a more serious note, we were very saddened to hear that Jerry Berdan's wife Rita Hanover Berdan passed peacefully with Jerry at her side in February 2008 after a long bout with cancer.  Rita was a teacher, administrator, health-care professional and Q&B's Number One Fanatic - we ask all the O'Donnells to keep Jerry in your hearts and prayers.
